About Wickham Market
Wickham Market is host to a variety of wonderful shops and traces its market roots at least as far back as 1086, when it was listed in the Little Domesday Book. Wickham Market became an official market town in 1440, when King Henry VI granted permission for the village to hold two fairs and a weekly market.
While the weekly market and fairs lapsed for several centuries, today Wickham Market is reclaiming its heritage. Every Wednesday the village now hosts a mini-market on ‘The Hill’. You will also numerous shops open most days of the week, including home furnishing stores, beauty salons, art centres, butcher shops and more.
